PFOA is a component that in the past was used as an additive of aqueous dispersions of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), in quantities of few parts per million (p.p.m).
Recently there has been a lot of media attention around the relationship between PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid) and non-stick coatings. FORMEGOLOSE™’s non-stick coatings do not contain PFOA.
PFOA is no longer used in the production cycles of the raw materials for the production of non-stick coatings. This compound is not present in non-stick pans and baking moulds, and has been eliminated by manufacturers of fluoropolymers as of 2010, five years ahead of the goal providing for its total removal from production cycles.
